Restorative Knee Orthosis
The DynaPro™ Hyperextension Flex Knee is designed for orthotic therapy in cases of mild to severe extensor muscle adaptive tissue shortening contracture or increased extensor tone that prevents full knee flexion. Its flexible uprights allow controlled “give” during involuntary episodes of extensor tone, making it highly effective for managing knee hyperextension in patients both with and without spasticity. This device offers an effective treatment approach to help restore knee flexion to approximately 100° of maximum flexion.
Progressive Orthotic Stretch Therapy
The DynaPro® Hyperextension Flex Knee is a static-dynamic orthotic with dual hinges set 15° beyond the comfortable passive flexion range to promote anti-spasticity stretch (e.g., for 45° flexion, hinges set at -60°). Its flexible uprights help inhibit muscle tone, supporting Low Load Prolonged Stretch (LLPS). With wear times of 3–6 hours, the device promotes long-term range of motion gains by increasing Total End Range Time (TERT). Hinges should be adjusted every 6–8 weeks to maintain progress, and treatment should continue until joint function is restored.
