Pneumatic Stretch Orthosis for Hand and Wrist
The AirPro™ Grip WHFO provides orthotic therapy for individuals with moderate to severe stiffness or contractures of the wrist, hand, and finger joints. Designed for pneumatic gentle stretch therapy, it targets the MCP and PIP joints of the fingers to promote gradual extension and improve range of motion. This orthosis offers a supportive and effective solution for managing joint tightness while enhancing hand function during rehabilitation. Appropriate for treating spasticity of the wrist, hand, fingers in a fisted hand.
Graduated Air Pressure Therapy
The AirPro™ Grip WHFO is ideal for treating adaptive tissue shortening contractures of the MCP and PIP joints of the fingers measuring 90 degrees or more, as well as adduction of the thumb. Using graduated air pressure, it works to gradually reverse a fisted hand by applying gentle, controlled stretch. The “Bend to Fit” hand moldable orthotic base can be customized to the appropriate angle, providing optimal support for the wrist and forearm throughout therapy.
Simple Application for Hand Extension
The AirPro® Grip is easy to put on and take off, featuring color-coded straps for quick identification. To apply, simply slip the palmar bar under the fingers and into the hand. Once in place, air is gently introduced into the bladder to provide therapeutic stretching of the fingers. This device effectively opens the contracted hand to about halfway toward full extension. Continued orthotic treatment is recommended until functional use is restored to the affected hand.
